We are looking for a full-time, experienced sous chef to join our team. The Coramba Hotel is rapidly becoming a destination venue for food and events. The successful candidate will work with our award-nominated head chef to create amazing “Pub” dining specials and experiences. The primary role is to assist in managing the kitchen with the below expectations.
Maintain health and safety standards.
Plan rosters and manage the kitchen team.
Manage food waste and the rotation of stock.
Create exciting seasonal menus that are functional for high volumes.
Be accountable for the kitchen's KPIs.
Recruit and train new kitchen employees to meet restaurant and kitchen standards.
Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that it is kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order.
Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality and are prepared to be served in a timely manner.
Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and venue employees, and customers.
Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
Teamwork-oriented with strong leadership abilities.
