Job Description


We are looking for a full-time, experienced sous chef to join our team. The Coramba Hotel is rapidly becoming a destination venue for food and events. The successful candidate will work with our award-nominated head chef to create amazing “Pub” dining specials and experiences. The primary role is to assist in managing the kitchen with the below expectations.

  • Maintain health and safety standards.
  • Plan rosters and manage the kitchen team.
  • Manage food waste and the rotation of stock.
  • Create exciting seasonal menus that are functional for high volumes.
  • Be accountable for the kitchen's KPIs.
  • Recruit and train new kitchen employees to meet restaurant and kitchen standards.
  • Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that it is kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order.
  • Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality and are prepared to be served in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and venue employees, and customers.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
  • Teamwork-oriented with strong leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
