Owing to a strong order book and to support in the overall delivery of the Group’s business objectives, we are recruiting Coded Welders for our Salford facility. You will be responsible for the ensuring work is performed to a high standard in accordance with relevant procedures, whilst welding of fabrications using safe, recognised and approved work practices to ensure all works are carried out to a high quality, safe and time efficient standard.
Role:
Ensuring that assigned tasks are performed to relevant procedures, specifications and drawings.
Ensuring that their assigned tasks are performed in an efficient and timely manner.
Ensuring that welding and repairs are performed in a safe and skilled manner using correct procedures and consumables.
Selection, inspection and use of equipment, plant and tools appropriate to the task.
Safe operation of welding equipment and overhead cranes as required.
Ensuring that a permit to work is obtained where necessary.
Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in the work area and reporting any hazards.
Responsible for first line inspection of work to ensure it is of good quality.
The application of all relevant environmental/quality/safety procedures in the performance of assigned tasks and report any non-conformities to immediate supervisor.
Assisting in general tasks throughout the fabrication facilities as deemed necessary by management.
Working in accordance with the defined health, safety and environmental arrangements deemed necessary by risk assessments, safety information and training provided.
Assisting in risk assessments, safety inspections and incident and accident investigations as required.
Responsibilities :
Time served fully qualified Welder to City & Guilds, MA or equivalent.
Proven experience within the engineering/fabrication sector.
Welder qualifications in either Stick, MIG, TIG or Dual Shield as required for the department they will be deployed to.
Capable of understanding weld symbols on drawings and/or following weld procedures to produce the required joint type to the correct specification.
Must have a good understanding of materials and be able to identify and select the correct process and consumables when welding materials together.
Able to Visually inspect welds to determine compliance with standards.
Capable of self-checking work and to possess high personal standards with respect to environment, quality, health & safety and cleanliness.
