Job Description


We are looking for a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and testing mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, inspecting motor vehicles in operation, and testing automotive systems and components. They will also adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive and truck-trailer systems, diagnose faults and malfunctions, and test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications. Responsibilities also include performing scheduled maintenance service, advising customers on work performed and future repair requirements, and completing reports to record problems and work performed.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.

  • Inspect motor vehicles in operation, road test motor vehicles, and test automotive systems and components.

  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.

  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems.

  • Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.

  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance service.

  • Test and adjust units to specifications.

  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.

  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.

  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor.

  • Provide customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience.

  • Automotive Service Technician (Transmission) Trade Certification.

  • Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification.

  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
